Cupressus sempervirens, also called Italian cypress is an evergreen conifer that is native to southern Europe and western Asia.
In its native habitat, it grows in a vertical form and can reach up to 35 m in height.
Cypress essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of leafy branches.
It possesses a balsamic, sweet, fresh and woody fragrance.
